Jasmine Designs
Many people don't know that Jasmine Designs started as a true "American Dream." In May, 2000, it began on a home equity loan in a 10' x 10' room in the back of our house, where we took on-line orders. Soon after, we found our first commercial location, 1,000sq/ft on Ridgewood Avenue in South Daytona. In 2004, it came time to find new ways to grow our business and bring it to the next level. What better way than to join the best Chamber around! Darlene & I immediately began attending the "Business after Hours" each month, "Morning Mix & Mingle", Ribbon Cuttings, and any function the Chamber sponsored in an effort to meet new people and network. Mike Arminio's theme, "Get involved...Gain success!" is a no-brainer! For the past four years we got involved and are seeing continued success! Jasmine Designs has expanded and now offers full service embroidery, screen printing and promotional products and services, has more staff, and has graduated to a much larger space. We truly value not only the relationships we have built with other Chamber members, but more importantly, the friendships. Join the POSD Chamber, get involved and you will see success! God Bless. This week I was again reminded of the value of my membership with the Port Orange South Daytona Chamber of Commerce. A customer called after finding my name in the Chamber Directory. That same day I was able to fill her order and gained another customer! Involvement in groups like the Business Women's Council has given me a great networking opportunity, and led to direct dollars earned in my business. We can't even begin to tell you what a blessing the Port Orange South Daytona Chamber has been for our business. As you first become a business owner, every penny you spend is crucial. The decision to join and spend the money was difficult in the beginning. Turns out, it was the best decision we ever made! Being involved in the local Chamber provides businesses with the cheapest form of advertising - word of mouth. They provide opportunities to meet people, attend events, sponsor events, join committees and get involved in the community. Face to face contact and handing out one's business card is the best advertising ever!

I firmly believe in Mike's statement, "Get Involved...Gain Success!" That is simply another marketing tool. I knew I would reap the benefits as I built relationships & became more visible. What I didn't realize is how much repeat business I would acquire through my involvement. You bet I'd rather do this than to make cold calls. Needless to say, it's a real privilege being a part of the Port Orange-South Daytona Chamber.
